I've come to understand that I love to learn things. I used to think I was just sort of flaky. I would dive deep into something and devour learning about it, then I would sort of give it up and move onto something else. Turns out my brain gets to a point in which it understands how that topic works, or learns enough about that topic to be satisfied and then wants something else.

I left my book at home when we went on vacation a while back. We stopped at a bookstore and I picked this up on a whim. I hadn't watched The Expanse on Amazon Prime, but had it in my queue. Once I saw this and realized it was based on a book, I figured maybe I'd read it first (despite being almost 600 pages)!

The daughter graduated this weekend, receiving a Magne Cum Laude in her Bachelor of Music. I couldn't be prouder of her. She worked hard and even changed schools mid-way because she wanted a better education. That took a lot of maturity ... more than I had at that age.
I was checking Facebook last night and inundated with memes and posts spouting about how terrible people are who don't agree with the poster. Reading through the news today at lunch and feeling more of the same ... humanity at each others' throats grappling for power, money, being “right”.
It hurts my head.
